Welcome to our new look!

When we originally launched the Sudoku Of The Day site back in around 2004/2005, we had no idea how popular it would be as a reference for people who wanted to learn how to do Sudoku, and improve their knowledge to tackle harder puzzles. Since then we’ve released many iterations of our phone/tablet playable versions with new features and styling, but the website has hardly had an update in almost 10 years! We finally felt it was about time, to coincide with releasing an updated handheld version, to update the website and make some fixes and improvements along the way!

We hope you like the new clean look, and find it just as easy to navigate around!  If you’re accessing from a mobile device, you should find that this site is much nicer on your device too as it will scale to make the absolute best use of your available screen space.

Let us know what you think in the comments!

Really miss the archive and solutions. Also was able to select my appropriate level of puzzle but now with no indication of what technique is necessary for a puzzle solution I find I am wasting my time trying to do anything in fiendish and up. I’m retired and the old brain doesn’t grasp the more difficult stuff. Oh well I appreciated your good work in the past; I’m afraid it is probably goodbye now.

Hi Dave, we’ll hopefully get chance to put up an archive of recent daily puzzles again soon, and good idea about including what techniques might be used for each puzzle. I’ll do my best to get that added when I get chance!

I do not like the new look. I wish there was an option for returning to the old look where I could print things the way I wanted them. Could you consider offering the old look as an option?

Why is this new look an improvement? You can’t access old puzzles nor can you get the hints (hidden pairs, x-wings, etc.) that used to come with the daily puzzle. I found them enormously helpful and clued me in as to what to look for……. Sure wish you would change this!

      Hi Judy,
We’ll be putting back the techniques lists in the next day or so, and also a page listing the old puzzles so that you’ll be able to access them again. Sorry they both got lost in the update.
Regarding printing, we’ll take a look at that: the new site should make it possible to just print straight from the page rather than having to go to a specific page. But that might not be working correctly yet…

Not happy. Been a follower for 10 years. Can’t print the puzzle easily, no archive, no RATING???? How can you judge the relative difficulty??

    I’m a big believer in “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”…… well congrats…. it’s broke now!

It’s all there again now, looking better (which makes a huge difference when viewed from phones or tablets!), and with extra breakdowns of the techniques in there too.

    Step-By-Step Solution
    Hi
Yes I am missing the hints too!

What A shock it is to see the change!

Also would it be possible to get a link to the Step-By-Step Solution for previous puzzles?

Yes! The step-by-step solutions and showing the sudoku techniques is there – you just have to follow the link from the puzzle to the solution, and then the breakdown list too.

Don’t like the new look. Can’t check the old sudokuos from previsous days or go step by step. Can’t print out a puzzle to take with me when I leave home. Go back to the old page.

    Hi all,

Sorry, we honestly thought that the archive page was working, but it turned out only to be working when we logged in as administrators. Bizzarre!

The archives of previous days’ puzzles (with links to view the step-by-step solutions) are now available here:
    http://www.sudokuoftheday.com/dailypuzzles/archive/

Please let us know if you can access it OK. Or not.

    Thanks for your patience,
    David

I am new to your site. I would like to make a technical comment about one of your solution methods. What is the appropriate contact method – is this it, or…? Bob Dee
