What is Sudoku?

Sudoku is a logical puzzle game, originally created in puzzle books and then made available in countless newspapers worldwide. We explain what makes a Sudoku and why solving them is good for you.

How to start

Sudoku may seem difficult at first glance, but actually it is not as hard as it looks! The aim is to fill in the whole grid – and depending on the difficulty of the puzzle this can be quite easy (just counting and checking), or later on for more tricky puzzles require a bit more logic and reasoning. We explain how to complete your first Sudoku puzzle.

Techniques

Learn how to go from simple, easy to learn deduction techniques such as Single Position and Single Candidate through to the mind-bending Swordfish and Nishio techniques. And how, if all else fails, you can guess!
